Sacramento

I worked in Sactown for a little less than 2 years. Since I was only working there Monday - Thursday, I didn't experience much of the city but here were my favorite spots to eat:

The Rind - a restaurant focused on cheese: grilled cheese, mac & cheese, and cheese boards. They change up their menu seasonally and they once had a buratta with cashew butter app that I still dream about.

Mayahuel - mayan cuisine with extensive tequila menu. If looking to get an appetizer, get the Sikil P'ak, a uniqu, thick pumpkin seed dip.

Curry Club - aside from having great food, the owners really make this place outstanding. They would always ask what flavors and proteins we liked and picked a few things based on those; everything was always amazing.

Aioli Bodega - classic Spanish tapas place.

There are a number of wineries just outside of town and the drive along the Garden Highway is beautiful if you are deciding on routes to get to there.

*While trying to compile this list, it was sad to see that many of my favorites didn't survive Covid including Chef Edwards La Bonne Soupe Cafe, Make Fish, Superpan, and many more.
